Are there any longer-than-200mm native lenses for the Nex? I was surprise not to find any so far.
Nope, not yet. Rokinon has announced a 300mm mirror, but as far as I know that's it & it isn't AF.
Ya the longest so far is the 18-210mm.
B&H does have 300mm mirror lens in stock for $299, by both Robikon and Samyang.
Rokinon Reflex 300mm f/6.3 ED UMC CS Lens for Sony E300M-E-BK
Is that the one you're referring to?
A long time ago I wrote off mirror lenses, but I don't know much about them.
Yeah, that's it, I didn't realize it was out already. Mirrors are an acquired taste, one which many photographers never acquire. I view them (particularly this small one) as sort of emergency/limited lenses in the sense that I really might need the reach for a couple of shots but I don't want to haul the big, heavy lens all day for a couple of shots.
But for now, this lens is it for over 210mm in e mount. Legacy lenses obviously abound.
**edit to add** Wow, I just looked at the specs for this lens and it's heavier than I would have thought it would be.
So a better solution would be....non-native lenses?
With the exception of this mirror lens there are no other options.
Judging by the size of the 55-210, if Sony were to make anything longer, I can't imagine how large it would be.
