Here are some butterflies from our garden, taken yesterday with my Sony A7III and Sony 90mm macro. After you dial in the appropriate focus range, it does an excellent job of grabbing focus.

We've often grown Marigolds, mostly because the deer won't eat them. This year, we threw out some non-hybrid, open-pollinated seeds and thought we would have some flowers pretty much like we usually have. Although the blossoms themselves are not unusual, the plants are huge (1.25 to 1.8 meters). And, we have had a bunch of Monarchs passing through, who are much taken with the Marigolds. When I was a kid in the 50s there were so many Monarchs during their migration that my brother and I would sometimes have masses of them on our arms. There aren't that many this year, but there are more Monarchs than I've seen in some time. With so much real stuff to worry about, it was a very nice, if no doubt temporary, respite.
