Found this lens on ebay couple weeks ago. When I received it the aperture control ring was "crunchy" and then completely locked up. I was able to disassemble the rear of the lens and remove the entire detent system. And the threads were a little damaged. But the control ring moves freely now, and I kinda like it "de-clicked" anyway.

This shot was taken in very low light without a tri-pod, just a far hallway light was on. I cranked the iso to 12800 and I was surprised by how bright it turned out. Of course super grainy because of crazy high iso. I need to try the tri-pod and much lower iso with longer shutter time.

    Thank you!

I like that the large aperture lets me capture ok shots at low light by hand. But my primary love for a large aperture is shallow depth of field. Don't know why, but I like it a lot.

Great lens with some great rep.

I would not have a clue opening up a lens. Do you have web guidance, or just experiemce?

Thank you. The dog, Tali, is a patient subject. I was playing around trying to get indoor lowlight shots and she puts up with a lot. The sockets was at work, I was just experimenting with this lens's depth of field at wide open.
