Walked round the corner in a small touristy village round our way and bumped into a Kite Fare.

To be honest, being new, not sure how to meter for a kite in the sky, or how to focus!

As the brightness remained static, I metered manually on a kite on the ground waiting to go up.
Focusing way up there, mostly on free space with things flapping about, I gave up and chose the Auto focusing that focused with lots of green boxes
Bad time of day, about Noon, with sun behind me, NEX 3N and kit 16-50 lens.
Still, kinda exposed right, and focused ok I guess! Anyhow, got pics today way better than the old compact would have got for me.

Quite clever how they got the lobster and snake to slide up the string held taut by the "traditional" kite at the top.
    A fun day.

I see nothing to complain about, turned out well.

Only small suggestion would be to crop down on one kit for an additional, more intimate shot.
