    Hello,

This looks like the best community for NEX other than DPReview which is a great site yet hard to navigate for me.
Anyway over the weekend, I originally purchased NEX-6 but ended up settling with NEX-5R with Sony 16mm, Sigam 19mm & 30mm. I am contemplating of selling the kit-lens.

    Why did I choose NEX-5r over NEX-6?
I wanted to downsize from my DSLR (used to own 40D and several lens) and why not go all the way the smallest with same IQ without EVF and pop-up flash that I will never use. Another big disappointment was 16-50 pancake lens that was so terrible with my one day of usage.

This little Camera is amazing. I am about to take a trip to west coast and excited to take NEX-5r with 16mm and 30mm that are lighter than one L lens from Canon.

Do you think 16 and 30 will cover for my trip? I know I do not have any telephoto lens but I feel like getting one for NEX-5r ruins its small size.

    I appreciate any inputs

the wide angle and fisheye adaptors for the 16mm are great fun, cheap and light

welcome to the forum, and I look forward to your future input

    Welcome Hawon. :)

Whether the 16 & 30 are enough for your trip depends on where you are going. Some places those 2 lenses would serve you well, other places they would be sadly inadequate. As gio says, the UWA and fisheye adapters for the 16 might be useful for you, again, depending on what you shoot.

Tell us where you're going and what you're shooting and we can be more helpful. ;)

I thought a big lens would defeat the whole purpose for me moving from a D300 to the NEX-6, but even with my big Nikon mount lenses, it's still much more of a pleasure to shoot with the MUCH smaller NEX body.

I briefly had NEX-6 for two days and it did have much better grip than 5r. I feel like I will loose the grip and drop the lens on the floor with 5r =\

    2 words- wrist strap

I never used one until I got my 5N, now I wouldn't carry the camera around without one. It's just too easy to drop.

Any suggestions on a good wrist strap? I found an old canon one at home but it is not that comfy

You could always make one from paracord and a small clip or carabiner.

In fact, I think I'll make one tonight and see how it turns out. I'll post up pics and thoughts.

That's an interesting take on a paracord wrist strap. I used the snake knot to make mine.

I can honestly say I've never seen a two color cobra stitch done like that. Pretty cool. Mine look like this.
