Ok, Deadbear's old pic-a-day thread was getting rather long, so I decided to start a season-specific version. Y'all jump in. :)

Well, my CV12 finally got here. The USPS sent it from California to Washington state via New jersey (where it sat for nearly 2 days). No wonder they're going broke!

Anyway, it's finally here. It's small. It's fairly heavy (like all the CV lenses). It's the older thread mount version like dbmiller has. It displays purple/magenta color cast and vignetting (no big surprise) on my 5N, so I need to work up a CornerFix profile for it. And then I have to find something to go shoot with it. ;)

I played with this test shot in PS6 to reduce the color shift/vignette & it didn't turn out too bad. Seems to be sharp in the corners, or at least it doesn't smear the corners anyway.

Spring isn't here yet ... I'll add some photos in may, when I feel spring is here. :)

Spring is very late in many parts of Europe. I still have a patchy snow cover and nothing colourful in particular...

... this is a photo of the latest hail storm:

... but I'm not bitter about it and I would love to see the signs of spring from other parts ;)

Haha! I thought those had all disappeared like the phone booths in the US have. I'm glad they haven't. :)

Yeah, I agree. A ver clever use of flaring and depth of field. Really creative.

This is gonna pretty much be it for lilacs this year. It's been a dismal crop because of the mild winter I think. Seems backwards, but there you go. I still have hopes for the irises and roses, but we'll have to wait and see.

Still haven't put the Tammy away yet. At this rate I may never get it sold. ;)

As I said, during the day it doesn't quite look like spring here ... But at night, well, at least this night, you could feel the summer is coming! So here's my typical dark image with only a few colors, like you expect it from me. ;)

As a side note: This is actually the first night landscape HDR of mine that is technically perfect. No blown out highlights, only blown out shadows where I want them to be and sharp down to 100%. It took me quite a while to get around all the challenges a night throws at you as a photographer - and to get the HUGE dynamic range that occurs when there are man made lights too, like in this photo.

Anyways, it's going to be an awesome year for us photographers!
