Greetings from Georgia everyone. I am new to the mirrorless world picking up my a6000 at Christmas and a couple of extra lenses. This has really opened and rekindled my photography interest. I am looking for a sun tracker so I can work on some sunrise, sunset, and moon photography. I am looking at Photopills and Tue Photographers Ephemeris. Does any one use these and would you recommend one over the other? Thanks!

Not long ago one of the members posted about "Photographers Ephemeris", I started using it, and find it to be fantastic.

+1 I use it so I can track the milky way band movements, the mobile app is great.

I started with PE, but switched to PhotoPills after it became available. Both are great, but I much prefer PhotoPills, both for its toolset and ease of use.

I use both, but I prefer TPE over PhotoPills for general stuff, but the FOV function in PP is really useful. Why handicap yourself? Get them both. ;)

I use Photopils, but I'm nut a huge fan of the tracking - it's not very accurate. I might try TPE as well.

For those of you on Android, Sun Surveyor is also pretty good.

I use Chronos Clock widget from the play store. It's a great widget made by competent devs and has a fairly accurate sunrise and sunset times built Into the weather extension.

That's a cool widget. But both PP and TPE provide a wealth of information beyond just sunset and sunrise times. They're both worth checking out if you shoot outside (and like to plan ahead) at all.
