hello friends I just received today, the Industar 69 f2.8,, has a relatively large aperture of 2.8, ie good for low light, but I read that has trouble focusing at infinity and some others but I'll get fix it tonight to use tomorrow on my nex 7 ....This pancake is very small, say thinner than the 16mm wide angle, I'm very happy.

I have here the results with this lens, take all night to clean deeply, as it came with a little dust and I think some fungus so I took a few hours to cleaned and hack, I follow this blog because I read some information about this pancake has a problems in focus to infinity.
Industar-69 hack - easier than you think! - Micro Four Thirds User Forum

The results are great, on the NEX puts this 28mm lens at about a 42mm equivalent on a full frame camera, offers good clarity despite the low price I think it may be a good conbinacion with my nex7, it's compact, good for the street photography but produces blurred edges & vignetting in all f/stop but this can be corrected in post processing
another thing that helped me after hacking the minimum focus distance can now be 0.40 or .030m which was typically 0.80m.

Bravo Freddy... for the infinity focus modification and the neat images you got out of it. Looks like you've got a pretty cool "street cred" lens. :)

How about posting a photo of the Industar 69 mounted on your NEX7?

Wow! Great shots. You're tempting me to grab one I saw available yesterday. (If it's still available). The close up of the hand and bracelets has sold me.

Very nice images from such a tiny lens.

^ Very cool... very pancake... very retro ala-rangefinder look!!

I love it... ordering one now!
let friend, you have to put it in your bag, you will not regret it, I paid 28 bucks for this pancake and I'm really happy, after the hard work I had to do, clean it and hacking, I get a good lens

Hi all,

I just got me an Industar 50-2. Really cool looking lens. I also bought a Capa M42 to Nex adapter. Strange thing is,the lens does not fit into the adapter. Just half a turn and that is it. Looks like the thread is different. The previous owner used the lens with a M42 pentax adapter. Does any of you ha an idea what the problem is? I do not have more m42 lenses, so cannot check the adapter. Which looks really good btw.

I hope to hear from you.

BEst, Joris

Welcome Joris! :)

I could be wrong but M42 is a universal standard so it's unlikely that the adapter (or your lens) would have a mismatched thread pitch. Might pay to check if the adapter (or your lens) got previously installed incorrectly, and the screws got cross-threaded. Check the threads closely (with a magnifying glass if you have one) and see if you can find some worn metal causing irregularity with the threads.

Hi Dioptrick,

thanks for the welkcome and reply. I cannot think of anything else too. The thread has a tiny bump from perhaps a fall?Strange enough the previous owner never had a problem mounting it. Perhaps my adapter is really tight orso. I will see if I can mount another lens M42 on the adapter to know for sure that is nog the problem en then work on the lens.. ;-) I guess I will have to try and remove a bit of the thread. Exiting project, I will keep you posted..

best, Joris

I finally got one! I expected to find a good copy on eBay, but I felt most of the good ones are over priced. The reasonably priced ones looked pretty poor... so I held off. The shipping from Russia all the way to New Zealand pretty much kills the deal.

Then out of nowhere an Industar69 turned up at our local auction, which is as common as teeth on a duck's beak! I should get it by the end of the week... hope it's a good one. :)
