In Prison

I went to a local prison that ceased running in 2013 (built in 1783) and is earmarked for conversion to apartments but until then is used for ghost tours / Airsoft and also photo shoots. I took a model along with the intention of getting photos in the prison and also showing off fer amazing tattoos. It was a challenge as there was not much lighting working and no heating so not the best environment for the models but it worked. I used the A7iii + 24-105mm and the Godox V1 for fill in flash. These are some of the images from the visit.

I'd say that your shoot worked very well - great captures...

Perfect model for the shooting location and excellent photos!

While the flash is not overly hot, it is a bit too much for my tastes. I would have dialed it back by 2/3 stop or so, or shot at ISO 100 with the same flash power, assuming you shot in manual.

They made condos out of a very old county courthouse and jail here several years back. Supposedly haunted, of course. And they added another new building on the grounds.

As far as I know the units all sold out in relatively short order, probably because it sat on a hill with an amazing view of the river valleys.

Very strong photos from an interesting location! I find them a bit on the bright side for my taste and in a couple of the photos the strong light emphasises the skin colour differences between her face and body. She has very piercing eyes

Great photos, but as with Christilou's comment, I find the difference between the colour of her make up and skin rather spoil the effect.

Thanks SpecFoto, the lighting (or lack of it was awful) so had to use flash, I wanted to retain some background info so dialled flas back to -1/3 and shot at 200 ISO.

Thanks davect01 - it is a strange concept however as the building is listed they can only make certain changes - not sure how they will make it work and due to the time taking to confirm it so are the owners / company do the conversion / planners!

Thanks bdbits, lousy view from this prison as it is city based - it is also supposedly haunted as well ( they do ghost walks) - time will tell.

Thanks christilou, the lighting was very low inside and in some parts almost non existent so despite having the flash dialled down it was an essential addition, her face is tanned unlike her body that she tends not to overexpose ( no pun intended). She does have very powerful eyes.

Thanks jbdphotography and as I responded to Christilou, her face is tanned and she did have on foundation / makeup that made it darker than her body.

Nice shoot. Excellent colors. For me the tattoos are extreme; however, to each their own.
