Sometimes it really pays to work at an airport. We had a very cool impromptu airshow today. We had a flight of two A10 Warthogs land in tandem, while a flight of six homebuilts were taxiing in tandem. After the A10s landed, the homebuilts took off two-by-two. I was using a Vivitar 135/2.8 on my 5R. The more I use this lens, the more I like it; the balance with the 5R is perfect, hand-held shots are a breeze, the photos are excellent, and it cost me $17, shipped. :) Enjoy.

Good shooting. I'm sure some of those pics are not easy to get.

After lunch, the airshow continued. Six C130s filed to depart as a flight, and the A10s were right behind, followed by a commercial flight. I don't recall ever seeing that particular lineup on our movement areas simultaneously. I used the Vivitar 35/2.8 for the first few wider shots; the rest were the 135/2.8. I took the time to adjust these for brightness, contrast, and saturation. Enjoy.

Best event to hit this little aerodrome in a while. I and 3 other people were out on the balcony for Act 2; several other people were on the roof above us. In the photos you can see all the people on or around the ANG ramp, and the main ramp below us was crawling with people spread out with their cameras. I wonder if anyone else had a Nex? :)
