    Dear all,
as I am importing my pictures with Play home.. I have to admit that I do not like this program for viewing my files.
I wonder if you have any other alternative, that can rotate or even make small adjustments to images WITHOUT saving those. For example Windows image viewer will save after you rotate an image which I find a very ugly approach.

It would be nice if the reader can
    -apply fast few filters
-allow you to crop the image
    -rotate
-and will not save any of those changes

so to decide fast with which of the pictures you will proceed to the image editing part.

    Any alternatives?

    Regards

    - IrfanView (just a viewer)
    - XnView
    - Photoscape
    - FastStone
    - WildBit Viewer

You will have to try a few to find the one you like...
But I'm not sue which save the rotating info and which not (I think they all will or ask if you want to save changes).
I started with XnView and use ACDSee Pro 6 + PSE11 now.

How I can find the details of iso setting? I want to start "reading" and I want to have easy access to the basic settings of the camera

Im using IrfanView many years - is really fast for slideshow - it is not only viewer - has adjusment, cut tools and so on. You have to instal plugins (IrfanView PlugIns) for viewing arw files and EXIF info (EXIF = key I than key E)

    Puh...
    That's hard...
Most of the freeware I know has no connection to social networks or any internet spaces to stay independent...
The only I would recommend could be Google Picasa...
