..yesterday when I was given this lens.
It's a Vivitar Macro Focusing Zoom 70-150 f3.8 w/Nikon mount. Nothing fancy for sure, but it does make some nice pictures. IMG_0397.JPG

For a free-to-me lens it doesn't do too bad and is a nice size lens for my Nex-7.
    These flowers are SOOC jpegs.

What are the first 2 numbers on the serial? I think you can track down the actual manufacturer of the Vivitar's, 22 is Kiron / Kino, I have the 105 Macro and a f3.5 70-210 from them, they are great (albeit heavy)

Looks like the Kino made one-touch zoom version that replaced the two-touch version.
It's considered a good shooter. So, you did well!

    Thanks guys!
First two serial numbers are 22, so it looks like it is the Kiron made one.
Zoom is push/pull and focus it twist so it is one touch I guess you'd say.
    I'm happy with it.

    Hard to beat free.

I personally don't like push/pull, but that is just me.

Dave, when it's a freebie I don't complain at all, I just adapt to it.

My neighbor, (we were both 17), was given a newish car by her parents and she complained that it was not her color for over a year. It was not a bad color, I like it was whitish, she just complained that she wanted a red car.

Yikes...... At 17, free car and complaining? I would have been delighted ( and grateful ) even if it came in pink with hello kitty decals inside out!

My first car was a 3/4 Ton Chevy truck that had no engine and fading paint. I had to find and install an engine to make it go.

I won't go into the long laborious story of my first car. Suffice it to say, I wish I'd listened to my dad when he questioned me about wanting to buy it.

When given the choice between taking the bus or accepting his uncle's donated to him 240D sedan, I was glad when my son chose the 240D, even though he considered it an 'old man's car'. I really don't understand kids today that are given cars by their parents/grandparents and then go out and promptly wreck them or complain about it being the wrong color. I guess that's what they mean when they say it's the 'entitled' generation.

Just fooling around with the lens today using a remote I was given for my Nex-7 too.
Can't get over how crisp the pictures are with it.
