I like and shoot Bokeh.

    Thank you Gentlemen,shots are not by chance(or crazy) but planned as I sell most of my prints 40x60" on Canvas or Aluminum.

    Only now when looking hard, and I'm not even sure I see the second one. It doesn't really help that I'm a bit color-blind. For me the insects don't make any difference.

    #1 and #2 for me. In the others, the background distracts from the subjects.

    You probably do not shoot much Macro,thats all I shoot for past 60 years...

    For what it's worth it, that's why I also liked 1 and 2 too ;)

    I can see the appeal of the bokeh to some, though. It is certainly distinctive.

    Let me clarify:
    1. In some of the shots, the busy/swirly bokeh is distracting. To the point that the subject does not stand out.
    2. I shoot macro too. Some examples below. I always try to have a smooth background, so the subject can be appreciated without distractions.

    As an aside, I just remembered a very good book on this subject, John Shaw's "Closeups in Nature".
