    Very nice image.

Makes me regret even more that I did not go down there this weekend for a sunset shot, as it is one of my favorite areas.

Great picture. I grew up in So Cal and visited Huntington Beach. As a kid my folks took me there to play in the surf. As a young man I took girls there at night to lay on the beach (while dodging the patrol jeeps). Neither way did I pay much attention to the pier. Again well done on the picture.

Tom, It was my first time to go there and it just happened that I have my camera with me. The pier has a lot of potential.

Thank Larry. Now you need to go back there and pay attention to it. With all those beautiful women out there, its hard to focus. lol

I agree with the others, the first one is a beautiful picture, timing is spot-on and the composition feels like nothing else could be better. But I wouldn't be me if I couldn't find anything to critique. First-off, I fully understand when someone inserts a signature in a picture, but I feel it's especially distracting with this one. And secondly, there's a small vertical tilt (keystoning) which I would have eliminated, I guess it'll make the picture much stronger. (Just looked again at the photo) ... but beautiful it is. Strangely no one complained that you used the generally despised Sony 16/2.8; well, maybe everyone's distracted by the picture. ;)

Edit: Just saw the second one. Doesn't do it for me, sorry.

Not a big deal these days. Just use a native lens on your NEX and you've got autofocus. Problem solved.

Well, the corners are the weak spot for the 16 and there really isn't anything in the corners, so why complain? ;)

One thing I can appreciate from Cali other than the "great" weather is the beaches!

Take a visit to Corona Del Mar, best cliff side houses and beaches. Fun place to photograph at night too! Nice and quite, especially during the fall season :D
