    Howdy!

You all seem like a friendly bunch.
I recently picked up a NEX-6 that I can't stop shooting with. Compared with the bridge cameras and P&S that I am used to --there are so many more creative opportunities! I have so much to learn about photography and the camera itself...but I am excited :).

Some of my pics even turn out OK!

I experiment with a small (and growing  collection of 'second tier' legacy lenses.
Getting everything right with the manual lenses is tricky but rewarding when it all comes together.

    Cheers,
    Eric

Welcome Eric. Nice shots, and legacy lenses are indeed addictive.

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys!

Yeah, I am especially pleased with the first pic myself. The train tracks made it work.

@quezra: the Spaceman Spiff episodes in Calvin & Hobbes bring back fond memories of my childhood
@WoodWorks: I think I have seen you on ADVrider, right?

@TonyTurley: yeah totally addictive little jewels. I just like the feel of these lenses. I am not sure if I am helping or handicapping myself by shooting with these, but I enjoy the process regardless.

@ad: thanks for your words of encouragement, I won't be shy about posting more.

Yep, I very much enjoy the tactile experience of using a manual lens. The only time I've felt handicapped was when trying to take the rare people photo . . . I don't do that very often, and it is a lot different taking my time to get the best composition on a waterfall or a turtle crawling across the ground, as opposed to people. That's why when I do people pics, I try to get candid, non-posed shots where the people aren't aware of the camera.

Right you are, Eric! Small world, eh? There's another new member here named Snowy, and I was certain he was the inmate Snowy from AdvRider. But no.

There's a Show: Motorcycles thread here somewhere, so why not post some pix of your bike?

I hear you Tony. I find that I end up approaching the shot differently when I have one of my manual lenses on --more composing the shot and less snapping and hoping the camera sorts it out. I think that the combo of unassuming (non-DSLR) camera and the tilty screen has helped me get a couple of candid shots that I wouldn't have been able to otherwise.

    Ha! When interests converge...

Posting pictures of my bike is going to have to wait...don't have any keepers yet taken with the NEX.
