Yes, finally there's the first third party AF lens for the E-Mount! This could be the beginning of a whole new age of lenses for the NEX.

All specs after the link bekow. The price could be about 200 - 250 euro/usd, according to other Tamron street prices. What do you think?

Well, 80.000 yen are actually about 750 euro. Many of the tamron 18-200mm had an UVP of 600 - 700 euro, but not a single one sells for more than 250 euro street price. So there's room for hope.

Who should anyone buy this thing if it's more expensive than the Sony one (620€ street price)?

I also would think about it at 250 €...
It's good for all of us that third part's lenses comes up.

Little bit unrealistic on the price expectations here. The 18-200 that Tamron sells for DSLR is an old design with neither an in lens focusing motor nor in lens stabilisation. This lens has both.

The closest DSLR equivalent is the current Tamron 18-270 which sell for around $600 and is often available with rebates for $500. I would expect this one to be closer to this price.

Well, 270 mm is quite a bit longer than 200 mm, and the 18-270mm has very good IQ too. So I expect the new NEX lens a bit cheaper. Maybe closer to 400, but it shouldn't be above 500.

Just because it'd shorter on the long end doesn't mean it's cheaper and I would be disappointed if the IQ went backwards. What's the point of that?
