Hi to all from a Cornish Exile in Western Australia,

I've had my eye on this forum for a while now, and my NEX-5R finally was delivered 2 days ago!

So far I have seen some amazing photos posted here and already hopefully picked up a few tips to improve my shooting. I must say I am loving the NEX-5R! It's been 20 years since i've laid hands on anything with interchangeable lenses so I have a lot to (re-)learn.

Here are a few pics I've taken in the last 48 hours - I think you can guess what the central theme of my photography will be :)

Welcome to the forum. Uhhh… could you have possibly gotten farther away from Cornwall than WA? ;)

Looks like a good (re)start!

The NEX has managed to rekindle my interest in photography in ways the DSLRs never quite did - I know I'm not alone in that sentiment.

Thanks for the welcome :)

Jim, there's an old saying that down at the bottom of every hole you will find a Cornishman, well i'm here in WA continuing that tradition.

I agree Jefenator, i've always had an interest in photography, but could never find the time, money or space to really pursue it with the passion it deserves. Those big black DSLR's do look rather beasty, but seeing as I tend to travel a lot for work, not really practical. Sure i'm still in the honeymoon period, but I do believe Sony have created the perfect piece of kit for me and my lifestyle!

Welcome Rich, you certainly have no shortage of wonderful things to use as subjects in WA.
