I went to Crete/ Heraklion/ Greece, to capture the images. Nice little town .
So I took the streets for four days and sweep the streets.
Here is a couple of them,
Again 16-50 oss kit lens, nex5R, untreated, without tripod just placed the camera on a road sign ! :p

    DSC02370.

and just Miniature mode ON .

    DSC02781.

    What do you think ?
(I don't know, do you accept miniature pictures, 'cause i haven't seen any .)

    Thanks
    Geo

Cool. Town has a lot of history.

Love the guy in the middle of your miniature.

Nice! You should convert that miniature photo to black and white and send it to Bimjo. He really likes them. Better yet, add some HDR processing to it!

I'm not one for the mini mode but I do really like this. It works for me.

I agree. The isolation of the person is even more pronounced with that effect.

    Welcome!

First photo is very nice ;)

I lived at Rethymno for 4 years (did my Bachelor degree at the university there), a city in Crete nor far from Heraklion, and I must say after travelling all over Crete in that period the only city I didn't like is Heraklion - reminds me of a small Athens...

That's exactly what i was trying to do !

This shot would be a very dull image if was a normal picture. isn't it ?
Not high buildings, a pavement and a night . There isn't a story to tell.
This way adds more field and depth going on, like as you said by isolating the object.

Sony performed very well here actually .

    Nick,
Yes mate, this is exactly the view I have had for Heraklion too. But you know there are a lot of things going on lately

Please have a look of my perspective.

(this is my flickr account and i as wrote before, went there specifically to capture the things going there .
Lots, and lots of students. Youth is leading the town and of course night life is never ending with small pots of youth here and there having their life going, all night- all day
This town is alive and more beautiful than before . Have a look at PoP Heraklion, obviously ! )

    Edit ... I have a little flickr acount isn't that beatiful ? LOL ! ! ! You taught me that too !
