Hello to all forum members. I am new to this community and also a new owner of a Nex 6 with the 16-50mm kit lens. This is my first experience with a mirrorless camera (or with a DSLR) and I must say I really love this camera and don't regret my purchase at all. I did have an old 70s Minolta film SLR but haven't used that in years. I am far from being a pro photographer but I work in the field of television production so I do have a basic grasp of most technical terms but I'll probably be asking a question or two from time to time. The forum's membership doesn't seem too big and the community seems quite friendly from the posts I've read which is exactly what I was looking for. Looking forward to reading your posts.

Welcome Imasphere! You've come to the right place for friendly give-and-take of info about all things NEXish. I had a NEX-6 and 16-50 and loved that combo. Feel free to fire away with any questions you come up with, and be sure to post some of your photos when you get the chance. We won't bite. :p

Welcome Imasphere from Quebec. I also started my Sony engineered photography phase with a NEX 6 and the 16-50 kit lens. A nice combination but be prepared to acquire Lens Acquisition Syndrome if you hang around here. ;)

Is there a cure for that syndrome?

    Good one!
It's true I'm already looking at new lenses but with the purchase of the Nex, my budget is very limited. I did buy a lens adapter in order to use an old Minolta 45mm prime lens that I have so I think I'll start with that. I think the used lens with adapter will be my way go for now but it's going to be hard to get an ultra wide angle with this option.
