heavy lifter

    Went down to the Port of Pasco (aka Big Pasco) to look at the new crane that the Neil F Lampson company is building. It's a big honker, currently configured to lift 1500 tons. In its really heavy lift configuration it is rated at 3100 tons of lift.

    Quite the machine. The 3rd one with the man in the pic really shows the size of this thing.

    loving the contrast of the third picture....so any clue why the lift capacity is so big??....what comes in there that can be so heavy??
