    Hi all

I have the 16-50 with my Nex 6, is it worth picking up the 18-55 ?

I've seen one at a very good price - £50....

    What do u think ?

    Thanks

I can't think of any good reason to add it personally. Bigger, not all that great quality wise, 2mm at the wide is more of a loss in viewing angle than the 5mm gain at the long end. I'd keep your £50 and put it towards something else.

No. Spend more on an actually different lens than the one you already own.

Ok - thanks for the advice - wont bother then and will try to get used to the power zoom !

Next on the list is the Sigma 30mm

I agree with everybody else - doesn't worth it
Having 2 lenses of basically the same focal length/characterestics is pointless IMHO and you'd end up not using one after some time...

No, it is not. But the Sigma 19 is better anyways.

Totally agree. Only way I would advise getting one is if you wanted to compare, and then resale the one you don't like.

I have the Sigma twins and totally love them.

Difference is minimal. Wide angle lenses are more difficult to design than standard lenses.

after a couple of outings I'm really pleased with the 16-50 so will definitely be keeping it.

I've now got the Sigma 30mm if I need anything faster and I'm really pleased with this lens.
