Has anyone used the 28-75 Tamron on a Sony APSC Camera

I want a zoom lens that is markedly sharper than the 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens to use on my APSC A6400 and A6500 cameras. IMO, the GM lenses are too big, heavy and expensive while the neither the 18-105mm f/4 nor 16-70mm f/4 Zeiss appear to be markedly sharper than the kit lens (at least by DXOmark standard)....
I wish Sony had an APSC lens like the Canon 17-55mm f.2.8 IS but, they don't!
That kind of leaves the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 lens as my only option.
Can anyone tell me if the Tamron is markedly sharper than the kit lens and how does the weight of the Tamron feel on an A6xxx camera?
I realize that the focal lengths are different and that the Tamron doesn't have OSS but, how about Eye-AF on the A6xxx cameras?
I am well equipped with prime lenses for those cameras and also have the Sony 70-200mm f/4 G OSS lens...
