A few photos of my first ever test of the Tamron 70-200mm F2.8 USD with LAEA3.
    So far so good!

    Thanks for looking! :)

The Lioness one was hard because this side of the glass is the WORST of all the Zoo glass. No matter how you try, you cannot achieve tack sharp focusing :/

Its one of my favorites as well, specially because in so many visits, is the first time I get such a clean view of the wolves :)
    Thanks! :)
I am really enjoying it indeed and looking to try another Tamron lens next. Thanks! :)

    Thank you!
It is actually pretty good, much better than I expected. Even in not so good light its able to focus consistently. I was able to do some BIF (I dont get many birds to try) and it worked good. I need to try more in different focus modes to evaluate that part but overall, I am very happy.

I don't know how it is in Utah, but wolves are making a comeback in Oregon. There's one pair with offspring wandering around the mountains nearby, and the wildlife biologists recently spotted another large male within howling distance. They really don't pose a threat to humans, but I do keep my eyes peeled when I'm out in the woods with my camera. ;)

I've seen Coyotes and Bobcats out and about with little fear, but a pack of wolves would freak me out.

Great pics, the Wolf is amazing!

I'm evaluating a 70 200 also, did you try also native lenses, would you rate the focus speed good?

    Thanks! :)
I have the FE 55mm and 16-35mm as my only native lenses so is not quite that fast I mean, it also depends on what you are focusing on and focal range. For example if I go from 70mm close focus then move it to 200mm and focus to infinity it takes some time....but you know what, I am going to do a small video to show how it behaves and link it here since its hard to put into words. :D

Here are a couple of images from hockey as I wanted to test its speed....sadly it was a turtle pace Drop In Game LOL

What about the tracking? Does it track well moving subjects? Does it use all the phase focus points over their entire area?

    Thats a great question!
Actually, for some reason I had it in my brain that the LAEA3 was NOT able to do continous (i got it confused with the lock feature) so I was shooting in single focus. I now must test this again but yes, it shows the green squares all around the phase area as I moved the camera around the subject and it was trying to keep focusing on my test subject just now.

A lot of those issues can also be from bad (low lighting) at games.
