Tried to write earlier but it didn't seem to go through.

I just gave up my bridge camera a cannon sx40 (went through the sx10 and 20 through the years) I sold it and my speedlite 430ex II my flash was better than my camera

I picked up a A6000 with the standard kit lens 16-50 OSS and the bonus deal on the 55-210 and I am already pleased with the results my next lens is likely the 35mm prime though it's pricey.

I am by no means a pro but an avid snapper and at all neighborhood family or other events am looked to for my output of pictures and am Looking to take it to the next step

I still have a cannon sx280 as a portable super zoom and a lummix underwater point and shoot

Here are a few new shots

Welcome and congrats on your new camera. If your looking at the sell 35 I don't think you will be disappointed, its a great lens and my favorite native lens I own. You could also look at the sigma 30, also held in high regard and much cheaper, though not as fast as the Sony. Nice pics let's see some more :)

    Welcome, some great first shots.

I too was a Powershot upgrader back a few years ago. The powershoots are great. Small and compact compared to DSLR's, with a great range of zoom.

However once I found the NEX, (now Alpha) line, I was hooked.

Thanks I am looking at the sigma as well, but at least from where I am at the kit 16-50 isn't so bad and if I am going to get the prime I might as well 'go all the way' and get the faster lens, we will see I am reading all about them all

btw the 50-210 seems a pretty good lens so far...

Hi Mike, welcome! The SEL50 is a handy lens -sharp and fast, right where the kit lens is pretty slooow.

Can't wait to shoot with it but I originally was going to wait a while Damn impulse control. But I think I have a pretty good set of gear with a good amount of coverage
