Front Lens Cover for Canon FD 400mm/F4.5

    Location
    USA

    Description
Been searching for a Canon “Front Lens Cover” like the one in these photos.
Made for a Canon FD 400mm / F4.5…tried Google, EBay, etc…no luck yet.
If anyone has one, knows of one, or a good place to check, I’d appreciate the help.

Perhaps something like this would work. You'd have to reinforce the bottom since it's just neoprene, but it's worth a look I think.

Gotta be much less expensive than the real thing. ;)

Thanks for posting that...something like this would work for sure.
Just a cover to protect the front lens element while the lens is out of its full length case.
Unfortunately, the diameter of the largest one of this particular brand is too small...need 5" to 5.25" diameter...but the concept is fine.

    UPDATE:

FYI...In digging thru that Op/Tech website, I noticed that they invite custom requests for some things so I sent them an explanatory Email with these same photos and asked if they could make their medium one with a 3/4" larger diameter…I'll post back what they say.

Meanwhile, I found this Canon Lens Pouch, 5" diameter...ugly, but it'll do exactly what I need.

Actually, this looks like it may be the simplest answer:

    Hood Hat

Ah geez roundball, I meant to link the Hood Hat, not the Snoot Boot. Glad you found it anyway.
