So I got tired of sitting here watching the Red Sox slaughter the Mariners and decided to shoot the rose I cut yesterday morning. It was rather dark in the dining room so I decided to play on that. Then I spied a pocket flashlight that was laying on the dining table and said "hmmm…" No, really that's what I said, ellipsis included. ;)

Natural light, full frame.

And then a crop.

And a really weird lens flare. This is the second time I've seen this with the 5N. The light source is outside the frame. If I held the flashlight just right you could see this in the LCD. It was very repeatable. I've never seen this phenomenon with any other camera I've ever owned.

This one I ws trying to see if I could get the flare again, but the light was pointed too directly at the lens and it was in the frame.

Front lighting on this one.

And backlit. I was going for that spooky Halloween look. Probably failed, but it still looked kinda cool.

Sometimes being bored is a good thing. ;)

Thanks guys. I'm usually ok when left alone and unsupervised. Unless there's an actual flame involved. Then all bets are off. ;)
