Ok, here is my first post with my Nex7. A COLD and ICY hike up to the summit of Sharp Top at the Peaks of Otter Virginia. Not mountaineering by any means but the layer of ice under the snow made it an adventure.

A mix of B&W and color. Yes I like to PP. All with the kit lens. Not as sharp as i'd like. Hopefully the primes I've ordered will do better.

The Summit Cabin, a former weather station built by the CCC in the 30's.

The second of the Peaks of Otter, Flat Top from the summit of Sharp Top.

    Stairs to the Summit.

In camera HDR of the summit rocks from inside the cabin.

Nice shots, any sharper and I think they would have that artificial oversharpened look.

Beautifully shot but way overcooked in pp for me. I'm sure I'd be heal over heels with a bit more natural interpretation of them though.

Yeah, I tend to do that. I was trying to get some of the detail and colors that I saw when up there. The raw's and Jpegs didn't quite have it. Those were quick processes last night. I tend to overdo it on the first pass then tone it down a bit.
