I just got back from a little 1,500 mile ride down the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada mountains, stopping at Mono Lake, the Bristlecone Pine Forest up in the White mountains, and the old ghost town of Bodie, before swinging west over Tioga Pass and riding through Yosemite. All of these were shot with the A7 and the SEL2470.

I've created an album on my Flickr page with all of the other images I considered worthy of processing. I hope you've enjoyed these.

    Great pictures!
I'm going there in late June, any suggestions as to where I should go for photo ops but also as a tourist?

Great stuff, enjoyed them all. #2 and #3 are my favorites, the cloud formation really adds something extra to the composition there. I also love the Flickr album, enabling me to view the pics in larger format and they really benefit from that. Last pic is a self-portrait I guess, always nice to see who's the real person behind a forum account. This should be a featured thread.

Thanks Ad, and yes, that is your humble correspondent. You'll notice that the lens did not crack during the exposure. :p

    Agreed and nominated.
Yeah. A definite "Whoa!" moment when that first bristlecone pic came up.

You can imagine my reaction when I first stumbled across the scene. But honestly, those sorts of photos pretty much take themselves. My only aim was to not screw it up. ;)

Love the pics. Makes me jealous, I can't go on those "little" trips. :(

Amazing set. Travelling with a good camera lens combo and knowing how to use it, priceless. Good demo of what that lens can do.

It turns out I was mistaken about Mono Lake 4 being shot with the SEL1018. But this image was.

In any case, I agree with you, Claude. The SEL2470 rocks. I hardly ever felt the need to take it off of the camera during the entire trip.

I was just there last October and you're making me want to go back!

(Actually, I have a family reunion in Tuolumne Meadows coming up in August, so no one need feel sorry for me...)

Your Eastern Sierra Panorama thread was one of the driving forces to get me to go, Jeff. And thank you for suggesting a visit to Galen Rowell's gallery in Bishop. It was both inspiring and humbling.
