This is a game changer in terms of ultra slow mo cams. A Phantom brand ultra slow mo costs upwards of $10,000. If I was a videographer or needed a slow mo cam, I would probably jump on this. But since I have no urgent need for one, I can't wait until the gen 2 version with better resolution.

I'm not sure about that one. It only delivers 480p at 860 frames per second. In comparison, an iPhone 6 can do 720p at 240 frames - which already is 10x slow motion. Sure, there's a huge difference between 860 fps and 240 fps. But there's also a huge difference between 480p and 720p. So the actual breakthrough in slow motion video for the masses will probably come from phones rather than from this thing, especially since both speed and resolution will improve year over year.

Ya it will be interesting to see what he can do with it if there is a GEN 2. It is neat that he is proposing for the "normal" person what has been reserved for those with a lot more cash to spend.

The 480p is a disappointment, but is is nice that you can use various mounts and lenses.
