I was trying to take a photo of our Betta Fish. It did not turn out well, but I love it anyways.

    28mm Sigma and A6000.

I get fairly good results shooting fish at around 45 degrees to the glass with flash. Other option is multiple flashes on radio or optical control of some kind, but what I do general works well enough.

I'll have to try again. I don't have any off camera lighting, that would help ALOT.

Him being so dark is giving me the biggest issue.

I have best results straight on with no flash and 30mm Sony E-mount macro. It's a fun lens for things like this. I set my a6000 to continuous autofocus, florescent white balance (I believe) and the shots turn out quite well.

With this fish I have only tried the manual lenses. Perhaps I should try an AT lens.

I have LED lights on the tank though – it would be tough without them. Looks like your Beta Fish was in a fightin' mood!
