Been a couple of weeks since I've been around. In that time I made my first trip to Philly and was able to visit the Eastern State Penitenitary. A great place to shoot with some wonderful light and color.

A few shots from the cells in the prison with my Nex7 and the often maligned 16mm F2.8.

I've driven past that place on some trips to visit relatives back east. And here I thought the exterior was impressive...

Well done and good quality from the 16mm. I don't know why so many people complain about that lens as I see many more good shots then bad ones from the 16mm.

It seems, there's no middle ground with this lens- you either have a good one or you don't. If you have a good one the shots reflect that. If you have a bad one, well… how many of those are you going to post? ;)

The same could be said of any lens couldn't it? Does this lens really vary from the norm more then any other Sony lens?

Depends on who you're talking to doesn't it? ;)

If you ask me, the answer is yes since my other two Sony lenses work fine. Ask somebody else and you'll get a different answer. Apparently the SEL1018 has the same type of QA/QC issues that the SEL16F28 has so it isn't limited to one lens in the E mount line.
