This was worth waiting for the sun to reappear. Sakar 135/2.5, all pics @ f/5.6.
All great, but that last one is super.
Beautiful! They are all great but the last one is the money shot. Great composition, depth of field, bokeh - and the buterflies couldn't have been more accomodating
Thanks Jaf for the kind words. The butterflies actually made me work for those shots, which made them all the more gratifying. I actually had a shot where there were three Swallowtails in it at once, and they suddenly scattered like they'd been spooked.
Excellent photos Tony!!! I agree with the general consensus that the last shot is AMAZING with #3 coming into second place for me
I wasn't too impressed with this lens performance in your first thread but now it looks like its very good stopped down and in decent light!!!
These are fantastic!

Thanks guys. I agree Nick, the first shots were wide open in a low light (overcast) setting. F/5.6 seems to be the sweet spot for this lens. I am really liking it. Just out of curiosity, I looked on eBay, and there was not a single one of the f/2.5 macro versions of this lens, only the 2.8 non-macro versions. The original owner told me he had bought it many years ago and only used it a few times before storing it. I'm guessing he got it at one of the camera shops that used to be here. Now we only have big-box stores with generic camera departments. Pity.
Wow, awesome series. Thanks Tony!
Most interesting series!
