    Stepped onto the porch this morning and found this clinging to a dead rose. 5N/Tamron 28-75/2.8 at75mm & f/8 from about 2 feet or so. First is full frame, the last three are heavily cropped. No sharpening added for the last. Which is why I'm glad nobody wanted to buy this lens when I tried to sell it. ;)

    Thanks to all for the nice comments. I was actually a bit surprised these turned out this well. Between a very slight, intermittent breeze and old "Shaky Jake" himself hand holding these, the odds for a favorable outcome were a little long. :p

    This species is called "Aeshna cyanea", the local name over here is "Blauwe Glazenmaker", very nice to find one like this as they usually move around a lot and never sit still for very long.
