I didn't either.
This looks like $12,000........
I was going to, but then I'd have to sell my car, which would mean I'd be relegated to using my bicycle all the time to get around. While this may help me health wise, I'm not that interested in biking it with the traffic we have around here.
I did see a couple of guys lugging big lenses like this at the Wild Animal Park. They were much younger than me and didn't seem to mind the load.
Obligatory Northrup Link
That is one BIG lens.
I suppose for $12K, it ought to be. You have to get your money's worth.
It's big, but it's lighter than the equivalent lenses from Canon and Nikon, especially when you consider the camera bodies for those.
I'd be really excited, if I were a sports shooter whose rich uncle died and left me everything.
At that price it should come with a Sherpa to carry it.
You don't need a sherpa, just Chelsea!
Not sure what makes me drool more - Chelsea or the a9 + 400mm combo
Get one Mike you know you want to, and get the A9 + 400 combo too
omg my dreams came true in the first seconds of that video... thank you
OMG 2 !
Ahhhh, Matt.... that's they way most girls come.
I prefer my girls to come with f/4's personally.
A bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush or something......
Might want to remember there are members of the female persuasion here, gentlemen. Just sayin'.
I used to own the 400mm 2.8 VR in Nikon mount. It's okay, but 400mm is sort of an odd duck. At times I would prefer having a 300mm for the size or a 500mm for the reach. Sony needs to release a 300mm 2.8 OSS pronto. That lens will sell like hotcakes.
