Cotton Carrier Skout holster

I need to carry my A9 and 100-400mm & 1.4 TC where it can be readily got at. As a wandering bird shooter too many shots get missed otherwise, and the rig is too heavy for the stock camera strap.
From my Nikon rig there was a Fotospeed sling. The camera needed steadying during sharp movements with this and sometimes there wasn't a spare hand.
The new holder is the Skout from Cotton Carrier.

This is a sling with stabilising strap that holds a plate with a slot. Into the slot goes a round grooved mount (called a hub) that's been screwed to the tripod mount.

The camera is dropped sideways into the slot and when it swings down it's locked into place. That's firm but there's a safety leash for good measure.
This is working well. I can ride the mountainbike and clamber around a rolling boat on a pelagic shooting cruise. It'll get an outing on XC skis this southern winter.
The hub with this rig is screwed into the lens foot mount.
This lens, with the sun hood mounted, is probably about as long as it can take for my 5' 9" body.
