I've been trying out Xenforo forum software and think it offers a lot of advantages over our current vBulletin software:
    -It's cleaner looking
    -Faster
    -Probably more secure
    -Less bloated
    -Much easier to upload photos
    -Better mobile experience

Eventually I think I'd like to change TalkEmount.com over to Xenforo. None of the content would be lost. No one would have to register again. All the photos in the threads would still be there.

If you'd like to try out the software in advance and have give some suggestions about how to customize it to fit our needs, please check out the test board I've setup at www.aminsabet.com.

If it makes your life easier, go for it. I'll still be here.

Thanks, Dave. The easiest thing for me would be to leave things alone, but I think the transition to Xenforo will make the site better for everyone.

Xenforo is much better, IMO. I think it would be a big upgrade.

I've done that in the past (picked xenforo over vb) and always endup regretting it, xenforo looks and sounds great but the amount of flexibility and plugability of vb is unmatched, you always endup wishing you could do something with xenforo that you later find you cannot.

Out of curiousity, is there a way to have a universal login for all of your forums? Or maybe I just need to figure out how to autosave my forum login.

Interesting! I've been reading a lot of switching stories, and I haven't heard that take before.

Unfortunately there is not a way that I have been able to find / implement (other than to combine the sites).

No experience with Xenforo and personally I haven't faced any issues with the current forum software but as Dave said, if it makes your job easier, then go for it - I'll still be here too ;)
