Spent a nice few days out on Cockatoo Island in Sydney Harbour with the better half earlier this week. Fabulous place to explore and learn the history of the island from a very harsh penal colony, to girls reformatory then finally a glorious history of ship repairs and building. Remnants from all eras still remain. For me the machine shops had me mesmerised. I would have loved to have seen this place in action a the height of the ship building era.
