Ok, I went out last night and got some shots of the lighthouse on Clover Island in Kennewick, WA. Shot some other stuff too since I was already there. ;) All shot with the 5N and the kit zoom. More on my blog.

And a really weird lens flare that I thought was cool. This is also a 2 frame HDR shot.

Thank you sir. I have a bunch of the cable bridge where I was trying to outwit some lightning. Since the lightning went off usually right after I closed the shutter on a bulb exposure, they're kinda boring. Maybe next time. ;)

Always wanted to try that, but too many trees in our area - Not really a clear shot of the sky. And usually not something you want to go out in :)

Let us know what ends up working. I would imagine that you might try setting up like it was a long exposure shot - ISO 100, F16 or F22 and see if you can get the shutter down to a 15 to 30 second exposure range. Then it's a matter of hoping a strike hits while the shutter is open - If not, you have some nice long exposure shots of the bridge :)

Yeah, don't hold your breath waiting for me to capture lightning. I've only been trying for 20 years off-n-on already. :D

It is hard not to like this time of day, the light is so cool. :)
I keep thinking I need a "better" zoom (old habits die hard), but I'm not sure I could stand it if I did.

Hey! Look what I found! In a very senior moment I forgot to upload this one to the server. This may actually be the best one of the bunch.
