Canon FDn 200/2.8 on NEX-7
My little buddies. I love those guys
Nice captures! I have the 100mm 2.8 and I love the sharpness of it. Ive been interested in the 200mm for some time. How do you like it?
This particular Canon FDn 200/2.8 is a "1st Generation" version...made at the beginning of the production period of the improved line of 'NEW' FD lenses in the 80's, it still has the sort of "macro focusing mechanism" instead of the short throw IF (Internal Focus) mechanism that came a little later in production. Not as fast focusing for fast action shooting due to the extra physical rotation of the focusing collar required...but like a macro lens...it really allows for fine tune focusing on stationary subjects. Had an FDn 200/2.8 IF version but sold it...much preferring this '1st Generation' type focusing for my kind of pretty stationary nature / wildlife shots...good IQ, good utility, etc. As an aside, MIR.com is a good reference for Canon FD lenses, and a full spec detailed description can be found there.
