    They areI But I think that's the bird's nostril, not a bug. Or at least the bug is in the same place as its nostril in the first photo.

    I had that same thought initially...tried to zoom it up but lost detail trying.
    In the end I finally concluded it was a little bug there based on the fact that there seems to be some 3D quality and bulk to it.
    Or at least when I look at the photo it does...but maybe I'm seeing an optical illusion or something, dunno.
    Just doesn't seem natural looking compared to the scores of Carolina Wren photos I've taken.
