    I'm inclined to disagree with that sentiment. If the mobile phone photography market is any indication of what's to come...

    I think "long time" is a relative thing. I would venture to guess that the limiting factor will be the ability to process the raw image data coming off of such a super-high resolution sensor at a reasonable rate within consumer price constraints. Just think of how big the raw files would be on those images! You'd need a heck of a buffer and a lot of bandwidth to move that data at respectable rates.
