This is the gauge this morning. I emptied it when I took the picture above this one. I don't think we had this much rain all last rain season.

I can only imagine this pilot thought he was going to Puerto Vallarta but then realized he was actually supposed to be going to Hawaii.

Good idea.

As I understand it, pilots have to follow pretty specific flight paths particularly in relatively crowded airspace as would be the case in your area. He was probably following instructions.

It just started raining a little before noon here. It's now just coming up on 2pm. Yes, it's been coming down hard.

I know this is nothing compared to the polar vortex, but it's what we're having here in Southern California today.

You may have heard about the Atmospheric River that has been dumping on So Cal today.
This is our total from the last 24 hrs.

It's a little hard to read but it's at 3-1/8". Yeah, it's been pretty wet.

Was up in the mid part of the state again to help my brother. Got up super early Monday morning so I'd miss the rush hour traffic down here near home. His shop is really taking shape now as we finished up one wall and put some siding on it and painted it before moving the racks into position.

I've taken my Sony with me each time I went up there, but by the time it is picture taking time I'm too dirty and tired to deal with it so just use my trusty little Canon SD1000. It was cold up there too. This is the car yesterday morning at the hotel parking lot when we got up. I was bemoaning the fact I didn't have a camera with me and my brother says 'You do have a phone though.'
I'm not used to thinking of my phone as a camera. Here's an iPhone 7 shot of the car.

Yeah it was a little on the cool side for this So Cal guy.

Got another 3/4" of rain yesterday. I haven't moved the rain gauge since taking the first gauge picture, but the plants seem to have grown a lot lately.

Work at my brother's place continues. We've almost got the mezzanine completed. We made one big door out of the two smaller ones at the far end of the shop. Things are progressing at a good pace according to him.

The shop is slowly starting to come together.

Not that anyone here is interested, I still thought I'd up date this thread as to how the shop build is going.
It was a hard 2 days of work, half day Wed, full day Thurs, half day Fri, this past week but it is slowly getting there.
I put the mezzanine together for the Speedster shed inside the shop. Lot of hard work for an old guy. The place is really taking nice shape as the new garage door is in, the new shop building is up and a few signs are hung.

I know you all have just been dying for the next shop build up date, so here it is.
New shop is now insulated. Racks are being installed to get things off the floor. More cars are showing up and taking up space.

Was moving some left over steel and found this guy stuck between some pieces. Guess he didn't move fast enough.

The Speedster is about to go into its new home.

Enjoyed seeing your Sd1000 stuff, AoA. My wife and I each have a successor, the SD1100is from new in 2008.
The images are so good that have never troubled to load CHDK. My own sample has finally developed one hot pixel that must be cloned out.

Over time the exterior got a bit scratchy, so I swaddled it in gaffer's tape - improves gripability too, but the faux red duct tape Leica dot is getting a tad grubby ~

Used to be with me always, but latterly became a real fan of the Canon S95 & S100.

I don't think I've ever seen Gaffer's tape used on an SD1XXX before. First time for everything I guess.
If you looked at the whole thread you know I have a sickness for these little guys.:)
