So as I'm finishing up washing my wife's car on the lawn, rinsing out the bucket/sponges etc at the parkway, I notice some paper being blown down the street next to the curb. I go over and look to see if it's worth picking up.
Right time, right place....

Washing the car really paid off this time.

Finally got some of the wet stuff this past week. 'bout time as we needed it, 'cept for the burned areas. I wouldn't want to have been in some of those areas with the down pours we got at times. This is the total from about 48 hrs worth of rain off 'n on.

Wow! That’s a lot of rain even by Oregon standards.

We were under a flash flood watch or warning for most of the time. That is what makes being in the desert dangerous. A flash flood can happen miles away and a dry creek bed/wash can become a river in a hurry if you're not paying attention.
I'm glad we weren't in any of the burn areas as that much water will cause mudslides.

The view yesterday from my sis-in-law's place was Chamber of Commerce noteworthy. Too bad I hadn't taken my 'good' camera along with me.

My wife can sew but I can't stitch. Go figure.
Yes, that's Catalina Island in that last shot.

Beautiful view! Is that the port of Long Beach in the distance?
Download Microsoft ICE v.2 for your stitching. It's free and powerful.

Let's see what ICE came up with....

Not too bad, but it seems curved 'in' instead of 'out'.

Its algorithm tries to best guess a good compromise of a result. But you can manually select different views from cylindrical, circular, fisheye, stereographic, etc. until you find one that suits you and/or something closer to the actual view. Then you can also adjust the perspective and centering by moving the point up and down and left and right. The up and down should vary the amount of horizon curvature.
The stereographic and perspective options curve out, while the cylindrical, circular usually curves in. Have fun with it. It is pretty useful when you don't have a wide enough lens on you.

:roflmao: Good one.

I had noticed WNG was using ICE so I recently tried it out. I've also been playing with Hugin, which might be a bit more tweakable but ICE is easier to use, at least that is what I think so far. Microsoft has as far as I know ceased working on ICE, and the latest release dates to 2015. But, it still runs fine on the current release of Windows 10.

Night time shot of the last 24 hr accumulation before I emptied the gauge last night. It was almost totally dark, ie I couldn't see what I was shooting, so this turned out pretty nice IMO.
Can you tell I really love my SD1000's?
