So I'm getting stuff ready for a trip to Canada. I have an Elph135 as part of my 30 year anniversary gift from my company. I wanted the SD card out of it for use in my A7mk2. It had some photos from the Elph135 on it and just because I could I put it in the mk2. I got a recover directory message, said yes, and I'm looking at the Canon Elph135 pics. On my Sony. Would have sworn this wouldn't work. Any other similar experiences?

The Elph pictures are JPGs which are a standard digital file format. The basic file structure for cards in cameras is FAT. The Sony directory recovery process was to get the FAT readable by the Sony firmware. Once that was accomplished it could find the JPG files and display them. Would probably not have worked if the images files had been Canon raw files.
