    Hello everybody,

I'm looking for a fast lens in the 35mm range for my NEX-6 for photographic purpose.
    I'm a really beginner in protography;

I read a lot about two cine lenses :
    - SLR Magic 35mm T1.4
    - Oympus Pen-f 38mm f1.8

Can these two lenses be compared in term of IQ ?

Did some of you try the both of them ?

The price is theoricaly not the same. 300 USD + shipping for the SRL Magic / 100-200 USD + shipping + adapter for Olympus.
In fact the Olympus price is increassing because of the NEX market. I found nothing under 200 USD without shipping.
And because the Olympus was made in the 60's you have to find one in good condition and it's not quite easy with a few pictures and comments from sellers from the other side of the world (I'm living in France) ...

On the other side the SLR Magic is new and recent construction.

But I really don't know about the image quality of these two lenses.

Thank you for your good advices.

In 35mm focal length, my opinion is the sel35. It's a superb lens and you get OSS.

I have not used either of the compared lenses myself but the pen for sure is held in high regards.

    Thank you for your suggestion.

SEL35F18 was is my short list at first. It's more expensive (150 USD I think).
    You've got AF and OSS.

MF is not a problem. I find the NEX AF system quite slow anyway.

But is OSS a real plus ?

The PEN F 38mm is exceptional. I keep taking it out, trying to find fault with it so that I can justify buying the SEL35, but I keep failing. :p
