I took the day off from work today, and have spent much of it taking or processing photos. Good times! I noticed the Hummingbird Moths were buzzing around our Butterfly Bush in large numbers today, so I pulled out the Vivitar 135/2.8, thinking it might be easier to track the rapid little insects than using the Vivitar 200, while getting sharp images of both insects and flowers. I was right. Here are several with the 135 mounted on a tripod.

The final challenge for the Butterfly Bush is to photograph an actual Hummingbird on the bush. I haven't seen one of those yet this year.

Ooo, you can see that they are fast little beggars, those. Beautiful shots and I actually got caught up in that fantastic bokeh.

Taking time off from the airport control tower to photograph a bush? Serious commitment! ;)
