When we were in Brighton earlier this month we did have 2 evenings where the sunsets were brilliant and changing fast so I managed to capture some images with the Sony.
It was a good opportunity to see how it captured these sunset images handheld and I am certainly very pleased with the results.

Again, apologies it is rather image heavy.

You pull a lot of image quality out of your gear, Iansky. Very nice.

No apologies necessary. These are very visually satisfying. Excellent shots. What a glorious sunset!

Thank you all, these were taken over 2 evenings so we had a touch of variety in the images.

Below are some some of the street shots that I also took along the front - again hand held.

I am very impressed with the quality of image that the camera delivers.

The high ISO shots are clean as a whistle, nice photos.

Love these photos! It's amazing to think that 7-8 years ago ISO 1600 was typically the limit for clean shots.

1/40 handheld? I know IBIS helps and all, but those are steady hands.

Curious, do you do much in post? I like the look, however you are getting it.

Thanks Paul and Chris, the new sensor in the Sony is revolutionary and as you say Chris the advances in sensor technology especially by Sony has made a huge difference to low light shooting - what will come next I wonder?

Thanks Bob, the IBIS is good but I do have pretty steady hands and after lugging around large DSLR's, the Sony is easy to hold steady.

Not a lot of editing, basics in LR before adding the border with EXIF info in CS - the colours on the new sensor are very good so just a touch of highlight / shadow to ensure correct exposure, I do find that the lens correction setting in LR does a good job - I did use just a small touch of noise reduction (in LR) on some of the night street shots.

Love the sunsets but really enjoyed the night shots of Brighton. Not seen any like this for a very long time :)  This camera is a gem in your hands!

Thank you Christina for your kind words, I am really enjoying the Sony and look forward to learning more about its many options.
