Just won this lens on eBay this week, I was looking for a cheaper alternative to the 11-16 that I had bought and returned a month earlier.

Good- it's sharp. Even wide open. At least for my first indoor test since it's kinda rainy and crappy outside.

Inexpensive alternative to the kinda pricey wide angle zooms.

Good depth of field even for a super wide angle.

    Full frame usability

The bad- it's big, but not as big as the 11-16, nowhere near as small as the 1628 with wide angle adapter.

Not able to use with a filter.

Manual only, only bad for some of us.

Here is a small sample of the 14mm at 2.8
    ISO 400 1/30 OOC jpg

Three statues, closest is at minimum focus distance.

I have not tested outside yet but I will update when I can.

Samyang has weird distortion. It needs correction for that when shooting architecture but otherwise it is very good.

Yes I've heard that too. I think there is a preset in LR.

I believe it is worse on a full frame body, on crop it's harder to tell.

I picked-up this lens new from B&H for $299 out the door as a wide-angle for the A7 that I am dreaming of getting in Feb 2014 (company bonus time). This is my first serious shot with it since removing it from its box.

I pre-focused at home to the hyperfocal distance of 12ft for F2.8 so that I did not have to worry about it in the field. I'm thoroughly happy with the results it gives on my NEX-F3.

Definitely click to view full size.

The close min focusing distance on this lens allows for some real in-your-face effects.

    Shot wide-open.

This lens is nice. Have not had a chance to use it a lot yet but it's very promising.

Here is a long exposure at F11 that I took just a few hours ago with my F3 mounted on an Ultrapod 2.

Applied the Canon Samyang 14mm 2.8 LR lens profile, then pulled the Vertical slider under Manual Lens Correction to -13 to straighten-up the buildings.

    Thanks.

I actually saw this happen the night before, which just so happened to be the day I went to work without my camera. Determined, I returned to the same spot the next evening and stood behind my tripod in the cold for over an hour to make sure I was able to capture that missed moment.

Diligence and patience pays in the end. ;)

I don't know if you're an iPhone user, but if so, this app will help you avoid having to stand in the cold, waiting for the moon (or sun) to move into the right position. Works great.
