Beautiful work!!! Love photographing dragonflies, they are so cooperative
Noticed that as well...they get in some interesting positions and hold very still...the only movement coming from any breeze that might move their perch around. This little Lotus Blossom pond setting at the Arboretum had a dozen blue ones flitting around yesterday.

Also even if you scare them away, they usually return to the same spot after a while. So one would only have to wait a few minutes, pre- focus on the same spot and they'll be back
