Taken last night on a very sharp and clear evening. Crop from original, taken with NEX-C3 and Canon FD 70-210 F/4.0. Hand held, no tripod.

crop from NEX at 320mm by markoneswift, on Flickr

Very nice! I think your handheld moon shot is sharper than my tripod one, plus mine has some CA:

Never even thought to shoot the moon in black and white but that makes a lot of sense.

I like this a lot. What kind of a location are you in? I'm in the heart of the city and have light pollution everywhere. Pretty sure I couldn't pull this off with a tripod, never mind hand held. I just ordered my 5n tonight, looking forward to trying. Only bad thing is that with it getting to the point where high temps during the day have been barely reaching 30 degrees, I dont see much playing around for the winter. But I really have a weak spot for astro photos, so I may give it a go.

Thanks everyone - I live in the suburbs of a small city with quite a bit of light pollution, but it was a really clear evening and COLD !
